In the fall, Hannah entered into an art contest through our school. She decided to submit a work of photography. The theme this year was "Diversity", so the only requirement was that her work reflect that theme. We went, armed with our cameras, to a local park and shot loads of pictures. This is the one that she ended up settling on:
When asked to explain her work of art and its relationship to the theme of diversity, she wrote about God creating the world with lots of different things and lots of different colors. At the end she wrote, "And God made people to look different, and they are so, so beautiful." Such a wonderful testimony of our creative God.
Hannah was thrilled to find out that she won 2nd place at her school and 2nd honorable mention in the district wide contest. She also had her artwork on display at a local art gallery, and was so tickled when we went as a family to view her work on display. It was really fun to get to celebrate her and the talents God has given her. I loved all the pictures she took! She really does have an eye for beauty. It will be fun to see how her gifts grow and develop over the years.
